We, a group of South Asian graduate students and workers are organizing a teach-in and celebration this Friday, April 12th for Amebdkar Jayanthi (April 14th). We have a few speakers, information tables, art build, anti-caste resistance music, and food. Please join us for the event.
We will also talk about our current organizing within the University to add Caste as a protected category at Rutgers, something that has already happened at several other US universities.
Whether you are familiar with caste, or not at all, we hope this will be a place to build a progressive South Asian community and solidarity at Rutgers.
